Dear reader,

Welcome to Cancer Research Information.com.

You probably found this website either because you are battling cancer, you know someone who is fighting the disease, or you just want to learn more about this condition.

I am the webmaster of this website, and cancer is a topic which is very close to my heart, both from an academic perspective and an emotional one.

By putting this website together, I strive to bring you news and information on cancer, whether in preventing the disease or reversing the condition. I include scientific studies, doctors' experiences, people's stories, articles from various writers, information from books, and more.

Reverse cancer? Yes, I firmly believe that the human body has the miraculous ability to heal itself of ANY health condition, provided it is given the necessary ingredients for good health (nutrition, detoxification, exercise, etc) and that there is still sufficient time for action (i.e. one is not hours or days away from death).

Neither I nor this site is here to tell you what to do to beat cancer. I am in no position to do so. In fact, no one is. Profiling carried out on cancer survivors have found that they often have one trait - they take responsibility for their own healing and recovery (as supposed to leaving it totally in the hands of a doctor or clinician), and they often exhibit a willingness to try different approaches to win the battle, sometimes even simultaneously at the same time.

This website is very much still in its infancy, and is still very far from the end state which I envision it to be. Other commitments greatly limit the time I have to spend on it. I haven't published any new information in a while, and there is just so much more important information to add here.

As a quick summary, there are some important points I wish to make.

About Cancer Treatment - Conventional and Alternative

Here are some general pointers about cancer, conventional cancer treatment, as well as "alternative" or natural cancer therapies.

  1. The conventional cancer treatment industry, which mainly uses surgery, chemotherapy and radiation to treat cancer, claims to have science on its side, to back up the effectiveness of its approaches. You will often read about doctors or spokespeople urging cancer patients not to forego "proven treatments". But, the truth is that there is nothing "proven" or "evidence-based" about conventional cancer treatment. In fact, there is much science suggesting that not only are conventional treatments ineffective, patients may well be better off doing nothing or pursuing other forms of treatment. The industry also has certain tactics it uses to artificially make conventional cancer treatments seem more effective than they actually are.

  2. There is a serious conflict of interest in the medical industry. The people who profit from illness and the people who regulate the entire field are too tightly intertwined. To put it crudely, they are in bed together. Just flip open any medical journal, and you will see pages and pages of drug advertisements run by pharmaceutical companies.

Big Pharma, as the pharmaceutical companies are not so affectionately referred to, wield unspeakable influence and power over medical research parties, regulatory authorities, medical journals, hospitals, universities, doctors, and even the media. What this means is that what is being done in the medical field, and what is being published as fact in mainstream publications, is not always what is best for you, the people. It's about money and profits. Unfortunately, this state of affairs exists not only in the medical and health arena, but in many, many other fields, too.

  3. There are many "alternative" (I do not like this word, because "alternative" suggests inferiority, since they are not the first choice. But since most people use and understand this term, I use it too) cancer treatments out there which have displayed promising results. Certainly, many do better than what conventional treatments offer.

But, if they work so well, why have they not been taken on as mainstream treatment protocols? Why aren't they publicized? Why isn't money poured into the research of these cancer therapies? The answer has nothing to do with efficacy. Instead, much of this has to do with the politics and the money-factor of the cancer industry, as touched on above.

Furthermore, history shows that the scientific community is very often slow to accept innovation and changes, even if it's pretty darned obvious. It took a long time for humans to accept that the Earth isn't flat, that it isn't the center of the universe, that scurvy is a disease caused by vitamin C deficiency and not some pathogen, etc. Inertia is strong, and the status quo is often the "right" way to do things, widely accepted by experts and laymen alike, even if it is clearly wrong.

There is also an inherent arrogance about the human psyche, in thinking that we can come up with solutions which are better than what Mother Nature has to offer. But for all our efforts at controlling and manipulating the environment, Mother Nature always has the last laugh. What makes us think Nature doesn't already hold the answers for cancer?

  4. Conventional cancer treatment focuses on the tumor, above all else. The very word "oncology" means the study of tumors. But they've got it wrong here - you must treat the entire person, holistically. What good is it to have no tumor, if a person is in pain, has no appetite, can't eat, has no energy, is mentally drained and is emotionally broken? Add to that - hair falling out, kidneys struggling, liver failing, etc, even DEAD, and what you have is a situation whereby the "treatment" is worse than the disease itself.

After all, as you probably already know, chemotherapy and radiation are fraught with hundreds of dangerous side effects. Ask around - many people resonate with that line of thinking. Again, unfortunately, this narrow-minded approach of treating chronic diseases is prevalent throughout the conventional or allopathic medical field.

The truth remains that human understanding of how the body works is extremely limited. That is why, all the chemical drugs we create and use, and all that surgical cutting, maiming and repair, can only do so much. Just look around - haven’t you ever wondered why conventional medicine has NO CURE for VIRTUALLY ALL CHRONIC DISEASES? (cancer, diabetes, hypertension, etc.) It just deals with symptomatic control and relief, that's all.

And, again, the industry is taking hell of a long time to learn the obvious. You simply CANNOT drug or cut a person back to health; only the remarkable immune system, with the right support and ingredients, can do that, i.e. maintain and restore health.

In truth, very little is known and understood about cancer and how it comes about. How much have we figured out about this dreaded disease? For example, people say smoking causes lung cancer - yet, I know plenty of smokers who never got lung cancer; on the flip side, there are scores of non-smokers who developed lung cancer. Thus, smoking is not a cause of lung cancer, per se, but simply one of the potentially hundreds of contributing factors. And then there are lots of seemingly healthy and strong individuals, even extremely fit sportsmen, who contract the disease; on the other hand, there are many weak and sickly persons who never get the ailment.

Why's that so? Nobody knows for sure. Just remember - the body, due to various triggering factors, created the cancer cells; it thus makes perfect sense that the body has the inbuilt wisdom and intelligence to also reverse cancer, when the right environment and factors are in place.

  5. Despite "knowing" that conventional cancer treatment "doesn't work", most cancer sufferers still end up pursuing that mode of treatment. Many factors are at play here - listening to authority, pressure from family members and loved ones, wanting to follow the status quo crowd and not wanting to take "risks" (i.e. doing something alternative), believing statistics and "proof" which have been manipulated, succumbing to the high-handed tactics of some doctors (who literally abuse and threaten patients who wish to do something else), not knowing what else to do and simply just listening to the doctor, etc - the list can go on. This, to me, is really unfortunate.

What I Would Do to Fight Cancer

And while I am not here to tell you what to do, I can mention a little about what I do, and what I would do.

  1. I do not go for routine cancer screening. Not the conventional ones, anyway. Studies show they don't help to decrease one's chances of dying from cancer. On the flip side, the radiation from many of these procedures actually CAUSES cancer. Duh. And, further, there is the whole unpleasant experience of going to a hospital, as well as paying exorbitant charges. Let's not forget to mention that the rate of false positives is very high, and many people go through a lot of unnecessary mental and emotional trauma, on top of being cut up, being poked, etc. I have no idea how many people have been wrongly "treated", and had parts of their bodies sawed away because of mistaken cancer diagnoses. It's more common than you think.

  2. If I ever get cancer, I might consider surgery, depending on many factors - how far the cancer cells have progressed, which part of the body is affected, whether any vital functions are being blocked or in danger of being blocked, the risk level of any surgical procedures, whether I will lose any body part or body function because of the surgery, etc. But I will not do chemotherapy and radiation. Simply because there are far better and more effective options.

  3. Cancer is a serious, whole-body ailment, and, in my view, the best way to tackle it is through a holistic treatment protocol which involves elements such as lifestyle changes, dietary program, exercise, emotional and mental work, spiritual work, detoxification, etc. It would definitely be useful to also include specific therapies which target and destroy cancer cells. I would probably consult a suitable health practitioner who has experience and expertise dealing with cancer naturally and holistically.

  4. As mentioned right at the start of this write-up, a cancer sufferer must take personal responsibility for his or her own healing and recovery in order to have the best chance of success. Above all else, this is YOUR fight, not your doctor's, not your father's, not your son's, not your wife's, not your cat's, not God's. The cancer sufferer is the one with the greatest to gain, and the most to lose.

  5. I mentioned emotional, mental and spiritual work. Yes, it is absolutely critical that the cancer sufferer maintains a positive attitude and a bright outlook towards life. This element alone can greatly affect one's chances of success, either positively or negatively.

Personally, I believe that even the best physical treatments would not work very well if the patient adopts a doom and gloom mindset, or does not have any belief in the therapy he is undergoing; in fact, I believe that mental stress alone can cause physical disease, as can depression, as can emotional trauma brought about by, for example, grief. When the mind and emotions are in turmoil, there are very real negative physiological changes taking place in the body!

On the other hand, when a person strongly believes something will work, even if he were only given plain water, there is a decent chance that the plain water could effect some positive physical benefits - that's the power of faith, and research has suggested that the placebo effect alone can work wonders as far as boosting positive outcome is concerned.

What Should a Cancer Sufferer Do?

Again, I must emphasis that this website is not here to tell you what to do. I am not a clinician or health practitioner. This website's sole purpose is to provide information on cancer, as much information as possible, from various sources, so that readers like you can learn as much as possible, and thereafter make your own informed decisions. And the information is provided in good faith, with no claims or promises whatsoever.

I do not even claim to be unbiased. The truth of the matter, in my opinion, is that nobody is totally unbiased. We all have an interest in something; we all fight for a cause; we all believe in something. A parent may claim to love all his children equally, but in reality, he probably does have a favorite, though it would not be politically correct to openly admit it.

I certainly do not claim to know everything. In fact, I can't even say I know a lot - there is just so much information "out there". If someone asked me, "what are one or two things which I need to know about cancer?", I would say, there are none; there is lots to know. I would use the analogy of a game of chess - in order to win, you need to be familiar with multiple strategies, and use them simultaneously; you need to know your opponent's weak points and attack them, while at the same time protecting your own fortress (your body). Just one weakness, one mistake, if it is big enough, can mean checkmate.

Please bear in mind that, in life, there is often no clear cut right or wrong answer, and often no obvious black and white distinction. Grey areas are often present, and they are often significant. But what you must also keep in mind is that what is widely accepted and what is published in mainstream sources is not always correct or the best - the reasons have already been briefly touched on above.

There are also no guarantees in life. I could choose a path with the highest probability of success, yet still fail; on the flip side, I could choose a path with the lowest chance of success, yet somehow achieve my objective. Even with the information and knowledge I have, I may someday still die of cancer - who knows? Oncologists die of cancer, too. But what makes sense is to play the odds well, and make choices which increase or maximize your chances of success; this is something which applies to life in general. If your enemy is in front of you and you only had one bullet left, where would you aim? His head, his heart, his arm, or his foot?

Importantly, do know that there is A LOT you CAN do to both prevent AND defeat cancer.

Cancer is NOT a death sentence. It never was. Take it as a wake up call, instead, though admittedly a very urgent one.

I wish you a healthy and happy 2011 and life ahead. Remember, cancer is beatable. With the right lifestyle and dietary habits, great health beckons, even for the cancer sufferer.

News and Articles on Cancer Research and Information:

Are Mammograms Causing More Breast Cancer? - Discussion

We have several articles on mammograms on this website, and here is another one by Mike Adams. There are some points in this article which may be controversial, for example, that the cancer industry is deliberately using mammograms to cause more cancers, in order to boost its own business and profits.

You may or may not agree with everything discussed, but the gist of the message is roughly the same — mammograms come with a great danger in terms of raising breast cancer risk, and this is something which most doctors and the media do not usually talk about, at least not often and not loud enough. The key point here, is there net benefit or loss? — a procedure may save some lives, but overall, does it do more good or cause more harm?

For a much better alternative to mammography, consider thermograms. Read More »

Mammograms and Increased Breast Cancer Risk - Follow-up Discussion on Recent Research

In a previous article (http://www.cancerresearchinformation.com/breast-cancer-risk-raised-by-mammograms-research-shows/), the link between mammograms and elevated risk of getting breast cancer was discussed.

That article had highlighted a study presented at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA)’s annual meeting. The following article provides a short follow-up on this issue. Read More »

Breast Cancer Risk Raised By Mammograms, Research Shows

Elsewhere on this website, we have published information that suggests a link between mammograms and increased risk of breast cancer. And evidence in this regard continues to mount.

What’s more, the research showing the negative effects of mammograms on breast cancer risk is actually carried out by conventional medical or scientific researchers. Surely the truth is on its way out to the general public. Read more in the following article. Read More »

Mammograms May Contribute to Breast Cancer Risk

Many parties, from doctors to the media and concerned family members, parrot the notion that mammograms help to detect breast cancer in women and thus help to “save lives”. Such assertions, however, fail badly at bringing attention to the other side of the coin - such diagnostic tests actually contribute to the development of cancer, too.

The following article reveals more. Women, please take heed. Read More »

Link Found Between Allergies and Lower Cancer Risk

Physical symptoms like runny nose and fever can be very uncomfortable, and most people just want to get rid of them as quickly as possible. Such reactions and symptoms, however, play a very important role in the body’s healing processes. A runny nose, for example, allows the body to flush out unwanted agents, while a fever is the signal for the body’s immune system to go into overdrive in a bid to destroy harmful invaders.

How about allergic reactions, then? Are there any health benefits to them? Remarkably, research has linked allergies to a lower risk of getting cancer. Read More »

Organ Transplant Recipients Have Higher Cancer Risk

Some relatively recent studies have shown organ transplant recipients, whose immune systems have to be suppressed to prevent them from rejecting the new organs, are at higher risk of getting cancer.

These studies are briefly described in the following article. While this information sounds rather ominous for organ transplant recipients, it could also serve as motivation for such persons to take additional precautions against the disease. Read More »

Examining the Dangers of Cancer Screening

Cancer screening - mammograms, pap smears, PSA tests and what not - are often, if not always, touted by mainstream medicine as a means to “prevent” cancer. Early detection means a much better chance of successful treatment and thus survival, they say.

However, in reality, there is very little evidence, statistically, that cancer screening actually does help to improve survival rates or save lives. Detractors even go as far as to say that cancer screening is nothing more than a money-making machine, which would frankly be quite consistent with a lot of other aspects of pharmaceutical medicine. Prevention of Breast Cancer in Women Aided by Vigorous Activity

Cancer rates have soared in the developed world, and breast cancer is shockingly common among women today. And, they are getting it at a younger age, too. The medical establishment has nothing much to offer other than their usual harsh protocols like mammograms, surgeries and chemotherapy.

Yet, one of the most potent tools in how to prevent breast cancer, or any type of cancer for that matter, is free and widely available to all - exercise and physical activity. The following article reveals more. Read More »

Prostate Cancer Risk of Obese Men Elevated by Use of Statins

Vegetables and Fruits May Help Prevent Breast Cancer Recurrence

Fruits and vegetables are an absolutely critical part of any health-promoting diet, and even more so when it comes to cancer prevention or anti-cancer dietary protocols.

They are high in vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, antioxidants, enzymes and other nutrients, contain lots of fiber which helps to keep the intestines and colon clean, as well as contain countless compounds with anti-cancer properties. A good idea is to eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, preferably of varying colors. Organic is best, while raw fruits and vegetables retain a lot more of their nutrients. Read More »

Small Intestine Cancer Risk Lowered By Eating More Fiber and Whole Grains

When we eat more fiber, we visit the toilet more regularly. That, intuitively, means a cleaner colon and a lower risk of large intestine disorders and colorectal cancer. Natural healers, however, have always asserted that a lack of regular elimination can cause many illnesses and ailments, including ones which are in another part of the intestinal tract or seemingly totally unrelated to it.

At the same time, there can be little or no doubt that the health benefits conferred by whole grains far outweight those offered by refined grains. In fact, refined grains can really hurt your health. Here, a study draws a link between whole grains, dietary fiber and small intestine cancer. Read More »

Cancer and Sugar - Studies Which Show The Link

One of the most important things a cancer suffererer needs to do is to avoid refined sugar in his or her diet. I’m talking candy bars, cakes, sugary beverages, and the like. Cancer cells love these sugars. It amazes me that, in hospitals, they actually serve items with refined sugar to cancer patients. Don’t they know any better?

Even for those not hit by this disease, refined sugar is something to avoid if you want to pursue good health. Such sugars throw your metabolism out of whack, overwork your pancreas (to produce insulin), cause obesity, etc. Quite simply, these are empty calories which provide no other nutrition to the body. Ovarian Cancer - Study Finds Talcum Powder Link

Most of these chemicals have not even been tested for safety of use on humans. And, generally speaking, our bodies are “organic”, and do not like chemicals and substances which are synthetic, artificial or man-made; our bodies are just not adapted to properly dealing with such compounds. Vitamin B17 and Pancreatic Enzymes in Preventing and Treating Cancer - A Video Documentary on the Story of Vitamin B17

Have you heard of the trophoblast theory of cancer? It basically states that cancer is a deficiency disease, much like scurvy is a deficiency of vitamin C. Under this theory, it is stated that nature has provided two main mechanisms for protection against cancer - the pancreatic enzyme trypsin, as well as the natural compound amygdalin, which can be found in many foods but occurs most richly in bitter almonds and apricot kernels. When our bodies lack these two vital ingredients, then cancer may result.

Amygdalin is also commonly called vitamin B17, while the extracted version of the compound is called Laetrile. It is acknowledged that there are many other anti-cancer agents in nature, but none more potent and important as amygdalin. Interestingly, this theory was the first ever alternative cancer treatment protocol I learnt about, some 7 or 8 years ago. You could say it introduced me to the world of natural health and healing, and to the failings and corruption of the cancer industry. Read More »

Older Folks, Who Are More Likely To Get Cancer, Are In Fact Mostly Excluded From Clinical Trials

Fact: The majority, or about 60%, of people who are diagnosed with cancer are aged over 65. What you probably did not know: Many major cancer studies exclude this very group of people! This was revealed in a study which was published in The International Journal of Clinical Practice.

National Cancer institute (NCI) statistics reveal that those aged over 65 are about 10 times as likely to get cancer, and about 15 times as likely to be killed by it, as compared to persons aged under 65. That being the case, it is worrying, if not downright ridiculous and bizarre, that this very age group is excluded from studies. Read More »

Breast Cancer Recovery Negatively Hit by Unhappy Marriages

As further proof that one’s mental and emotional state of health plays a great part in preventing and combating disease, a study has shown a link between marital problems and poorer survival for breast cancer sufferers.

Chemotherapy Does Not Work, Is Costly, Has Adverse Effects, And Kills

So what’s this about chemotherapy (and radiation)? What’s this about using poisonous substances to masquerade as some sort of “therapy” or “treatment”, to try to “cure” a very serious degenerative disease?

Chemotherapy and radiation are very much part of conventional medical protocols to “treat” cancer today. But they are hideous crimes against humanity, and, one day in the not too distant future, Humankind will look back on these Medical Dark Ages and wonder how such brutal and savage methods could *ever* have passed off as “treatment”. Ovarian Cancer And Peritoneal Tumors - Healing Through German New Medicine

by Joanne Clodfelter from Ohio, US

According to Dr. Hamer and his body of research called German New Medicine (GNM), all cancers and cancer-equivalent diseases are the result of a conflict shock which affects our brains, our emotions, and a particular organ, depending on where the shock has affected our brain. Dr. Hamer has proved his work in more than 40,000 cases. In German New Medicine, nothing is random in nature, and all “disease” is purposeful. There are only two types of tumors: conflict active or healing. The terms “malignant” and “benign” are irrelevant in GNM. There is no such thing as cancer “metastasis;” only additional conflict shocks, often brought on by members of the medical community! Read More »

Tearing the Pink Ribbons from Our Eyes: Shredding the Myths about Cancer “Treatment” in the US

Colonoscopies Do NOT Prevent Colon Cancer

I have been seeing some stories lately about how colonoscopy is only effective for detecting cancer in the left side of the colon (i.e. the descending colon), and not the right side of it (i.e. the ascending colon).

Cancer Treatment - Comparing Natural and Conventional Methods

The way cancer is treated depends very much on how the disease is viewed. Is it just a tumor which needs to be removed some way or the other, or is it more than just about that growth?

Conventional medicine views cancer as just that lump, that tumor, that abnormal growth. Hence its unceasing efforts to destroy the tumor, through radiation (burning), chemotherapy (poisoning) and surgery (cutting). It does this at almost all costs, most definitely at the expense of the patient’s wellbeing, and often at the expense of his or her life. Read More »

Cancer Drugs Used To Shrink Tumors In Fact Promote Their Growth

In conventional cancer treatment, the focus is almost totally on the tumor - killing it via burning (radiation) or poisoning (chemotherapy), or removing it using surgery. Cancer drugs are also used to attempt to shrink tumors. Little, if anything, is usually done to improve the nutritional status, overall health, immunity and outlook of the person.

This is because conventional medicine views the tumor as the disease. If I’m not wrong, the word “oncology” actually means the study of tumors. Natural health and healing, on the other hand, is much wiser, viewing cancer as a systemic, whole-body disease. Any treatment then tackles the person as a whole. Read More »
